About us

Yorkminster Citadel is a Christ Centred, family focused church. The church meets for worship every Sunday at 10:00 am for just over an hour. All worship services are open to the public and a warm welcome awaits everyone who visits. Our worship services are livestreamed onto YouTube and Facebook.

Regular Sunday worship at Yorkminster includes readings from Scripture, a thoughtful and contemporary Bible message, time for prayer and reflection, and plenty of opportunity to sing modern worship songs as well as more traditional hymns. Lenten Prayers: A Journey Through the Upper Room
Every Sunday since Christmas we have been journeying with Jesus through John’s gospel. Jesus loved his disciples to the end, and John describes how Jesus gathered the disciples into an Upper Room to intentionally prepare them for his journey to the cross. In the crucible of his internal anguish, knowing the cup he would be asked to drink, Jesus poured out water and washed feet. Jesus taught the depth of God’s love, providing an image of deep nourishment to hold fast in the troubles that would come. Jesus abided with the disciples as he taught them how to abide with him. In just over two weeks, Lent will begin. Over these weeks of Lent, we are going to journey with Jesus through the Upper Room every day through prayer. Attached is the prayer guide we have developed for this journey. These prayers will also be uploaded onto our church Facebook page each day. It is our hope and prayer that we will each personally deepen in our discipleship with Jesus, through the words of Jesus. View Lenten Prayers Handout

Christmas Service of Remembrance
Thursday, December 18th, 7:00 pm Christmas is often called a season of joy, but for those of us missing loved ones it can feel like a season of sorrow. Whether our grief is fresh, or has been with us many years, Christmas can seem like a season of loss. We are holding a Christmas Service of Remembrance – remembrance of those who are no longer with us, and remembrance of the God who sent His Son into our broken world, not to erase our tears, but to meet us in them.
