OPAL Luncheon Club

Seniors are the jewel of our church and community. They have an exciting luncheon program once a month from September to June.

Food, Fellowship and Information
Third Wednesday of the Month
12:00 pm to 2:00 pm

Phone (416) 222-9110 ext. 1 to register

Of course this ministry may not be for you—you’re not a senior yet! But if you are looking for fellowship with people who share your life experience, we have a ministry for you. Our seniors are a highly valued part of our church family, and continue to be actively involved in church ministry in many ways. At the Luncheon Club, all of those who attend are our jewels, our OPALs! (Optimistic People with Active Lives).

Our OPALs meet the third Wednesday of each month at noon for fellowship and a hot meal. A group of volunteers look after providing the meal and there is a small charge for the meal. The meal is followed by a program and short devotional. Programs have included such things as information from police on safety, greeting card making, carol singing, Salvation Army disaster responsive services, Addiction Services, Toronto History, Monarch Butterflies and much more.

You are invited to join us. We would be happy to add more jewels to our collection at the Luncheon Club.

2026-2027 Dates: Sept 16; Oct 21; Nov 18; Dec 16; Feb 17; Mar 17; Apr 21; May 19; June 16.

The cost of lunch is $10.

Women’s Ministry

Our Worshiping Women’s (W2) group aims to engage, equip and activate women to fulfill their divine calling.  Our desire is to see women discover their uniqueness in Christ, experience the depths  of God’s love, and become followers of Jesus. Whether you are single, married, a stay at home mom, or a working professional, you are invited to connect with other spirit-minded women at any of our events!

Some of the highlights from last year are:

  • Line Dancing
  • Women’s Retreat
  • Quarterly Saturday Breakfast
  • And other times of fellowship

Women’s Sacred Circle

In Luke 11 the disciples asked Jesus, “Lord, teach us to pray…” Many of us struggle with ‘how’ to pray. Perhaps the concept seems elusive, or we feel awkward, or when we try we find our minds wander. Once a month (on a Monday evening, from September to June), as women, we gather together and experience different prayer practices that help us pray together.

These practices include Lectio Divina (holy reading), Visio Divina (holy seeing), examen, meditation, imagining scripture and many more.
