Christmas Concert

The Salvation Army Yorkminster Citadel Presents

Join us on Saturday December 2, at 7:30 in the evening, for our annual Community Christmas Concert. Tickets may be purchased at the door, or in advance from the office (see contact page), and cost $10 ($5 seniors and students).

Bobby Irvine, from Ayr, Scotland, will be joining our own brass band and choir this year as featured tenor soloist. His solos will include an upbeat Take Five version of “God Rest Ye, Merry Gentlemen”, Bob Chilcott’s “Mid Winter” as well as popular Christmas songs, such as “Winter Wonderland” and “Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas”. He will also bring to us musical theatre songs, including: “If I Loved You” (Carousel), “Climb Every Mountain” (Sound of Music) and “Bring Him Home” (Les Misérables). (See below for a video of this number.)

Bobby Irvine grew up in the small town of Kilbirnie, near Glasgow, Scotland. It was there he first learned to sing and play brass instruments, both at school and at The Salvation Army. The love of singing nurtured in his youth remains an important part of Bobby’s life today, and it has enabled him to give musical voice to his Christian faith to audiences throughout the British Isles and in North America.

Bobby Irvine now lives in Ayr, Scotland, where he is active in evangelism and in the music ministry of The Salvation Army.
