The Yorkminster Citadel Band (Bandmaster Greg Colley)

Yorkminster Citadel Band‚ formerly The Earlscourt Citadel Band, has been one of The Salvation Army’s foremost Canadian brass bands for much of the past hundred years. In 1965 it was chosen to represent Canada at The Salvation Army’s Centenary Celebration in London, England. Since then the band has continued to travel widely in North America, as well as overseas to Scandinavia and Bermuda.

At home in Toronto, the Yorkminster Citadel Band provides music for congregational worship each Sunday, takes part in regular musical events, and visits seniors’ homes and other churches. At Christmas the carols of musicians from Yorkminster Citadel delight the shoppers at the nearby Yorkdale Mall while raising money for vital community services.

Yorkminster Citadel Songsters (Songster Leader Donna Colley)

The Yorkminster Citadel Songster Brigade has long been one of the leading Salvation Army choral groups in Canada. They have toured England, been frequent visitors to the USA, and regularly participate in Salvation Army national and international events.

For many years they have brought the blessing of song to both patients and staff of the Toronto Grace Hospital and the Meighen Retirement Residence with their monthly visits. Over the Christmas season the Songsters are busy serenading the shoppers at Yorkdale Mall as well as participating in the annual Community Christmas Concert.

The Songsters are accompanied by Len Ballantine (piano), Bill Way, (piano) and Elizabeth Colley (piano and flute).
